All cultures around the world have embraced the drum at some point in history for healing, meditation and sacred ritual.
Drumming is linked with positive effects on challenges such as dementia, emotionally disturbed teens, recovery addicts and trauma sufferers.
Our workshops are created outdoors in the summer months when we ceremonially connect the animal to the earth, plant and spirit, singing the hide into place and aligning our drum's own power and voice with all hearts that hear it.

Bruton Red Tent is a free sharing circle for women to tell their stories in a safe, supportive environment. It is part of the international Red Tent movement in which women of all ages and backgrounds participate from all over the world. Bruton Red Tents are held around full moon.
Once Covid restrictions are fully lifted, gatherings are around a firepit in garden woodland at Millwood, Bruton, by the river Brue.
Come along with a talking object - which could be a stone, a stick, or other piece for each her own opportunity to speak and be heard. Not everyone is expected to share. Receiving and listening are also perfectly fine.
There is usually a simple guided meditation, drumming, singing, or craft project.
Participation is Free
Death Café is a free gathering over cake and coffee to explore ideas and beliefs around death. It is open to all perspectives and supportive of all beliefs and none. There is no set topic - the conversation flows with what attendees wish to discuss.
Death Café is part of a world-wide movement www.deathcafe.com with which the Bruton Café is registered. It is facilitated by Amanda and Gwen to ensure its guidelines are adhered to, such as safeguarding rules and no business marketing.
The intent of Death café is not to be oppressing, nor to overwhelm with grief, but rather to cultivate appreciation of life and the time we have been gifted. The idea is that becoming more comfortable with death through greater understanding of end of life, and how we can also support loved ones through that process, we can destigmatize it, become less fearful and live fuller, more appreciative lives.
You will not be expected to share during the meeting; receiving and listening are also perfectly fine.
